Two ways to decide which size will work for you

Ideal

Take a hardcover book with a spine that is between 3/4 – 1 inch (2 – 2.5cm).
Lean against a wall with bare feet, and place the book’s spine against your crotch till it’s slightly uncomfortable.
Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the spine. Repeat three times to make sure you get the same number every time.

Alternative

Take your favorite pair of pants that are the perfect length, i.e., they just touch the floor when you’re standing.
Measure as shown. Repeat to double-check.
